Stupa Meditation & Trataka in Thamel | Mandala Yoga & Nature Cure

Elevate your mindfulness journey with a unique spiritual experience at Mandala Yoga and Nature Cure Training Center. Known as the premier destination for yoga at Thamel, we offer a specialized Stupa Meditation with Trataka—a 45-minute guided session designed to sharpen your focus, clear mental clutter, and activate your inner vision.

What is Stupa Meditation with Trataka?

Trataka, or "steady gazing," is an ancient Hatha Yoga purification technique (Shatkarma). While traditionally performed with a candle flame, our specialized session at Mandala Yoga utilizes the sacred geometry of the Stupa (or a symbolic representation) as the focal point.

The Stupa represents the enlightened mind. By fixing your physical gaze on this sacred symbol, you bridge the gap between external discipline and internal stillness.

Your 45-Minute Journey at Mandala Yoga

At our center in the heart of Mandala Street, Thamel, we guide you through a structured 45-minute flow to ensure maximum benefit without eye strain:

1. Preparation & Centering (10 Minutes)

  • Body Stillness: We begin with light neck and eye exercises to release tension.

  • Breath Awareness: Gentle Pranayama (breathing techniques) to calm the nervous system and prepare the mind for one-pointedness (Dharana).

2. Bahiranga Trataka: External Gazing (15 Minutes)

  • The Gaze: You will sit in a comfortable meditative posture, focusing your eyes on the central point of the Stupa or a "Bindu" (dot).

  • The Technique: We teach you how to maintain a steady, relaxed gaze without blinking until the eyes begin to water, which naturally purifies the tear ducts and clears "mental debris."

3. Antaranga Trataka: Internal Visualization (15 Minutes)

  • Closing the Eyes: Once the eyes are closed, you will visualize the afterimage of the symbol at the Ajna Chakra (the space between the eyebrows).

  • Third Eye Activation: This stage builds intense internal concentration and fosters a deep sense of intuition and peace.

4. Integration & Palming (5 Minutes)

  • Healing Touch: We conclude with Palming—rubbing the palms together to generate heat and placing them over the eyes to soothe the optic nerves.

  • Silent Reflection: A few moments of silence to absorb the "Sattva" (purity) generated during the session.

  • Spiritual Awakening: By stimulating the pineal gland (Third Eye), this meditation enhances your clarity and connection to your higher self.
